Recently, Pastor Peter and Kristina Krepela, our congregation’s representative, signed a renewed covenant of shared ministry with Lyngblomsten, a senior healthcare, housing and service provider.  Prince of Peace has been a member congregation and partner with Lyngblomsten since 1961.  Corporate congregations like Prince of Peace see Lyngblomsten as an extension of our congregation’s outreach to older adults, and together we are helping people in ways that neither the church nor Lyngblomsten could do alone.  As we renew this covenant, we recommit ourselves to the following statement of beliefs:

Together, we believe…

WE BELIEVE our faith in Jesus call each of us to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

WE BELIEVE the parable of the Good Samaritan defines “our neighbor” as anyone in need of caring assistance.

WE BELIEVE all people, especially older adults, need and deserve to be meaningfully engaged within a community of support.

WE BELIEVE that as a community of support, we can help older people feel that their lives are meaningful – that they still have a purpose.

WE BELIEVE that congregations are called to reach out in Christian service to all people in our community who need help, including elderly persons.

WE BELIEVE a just society can exist where the rights and dignity of all humans are valued equally and the wisdom of older adults is revered.

WE BELIEVE that we can do more together than we can do as individual organizations and, therefore, it is mutually beneficial to be in partnership with a shared commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the elderly in our community.
