This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to take a trip to New Orleans. Although it wasn’t a new destination for me, the trip as a whole was something I’d never experienced before.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was making friends, including the group I traveled with. Day by day I felt myself getting closer and closer with my youth group, both people I already knew very well and people I didn’t. Along with the friends I went into Louisiana with, I came out with even more. Everything we did was fun and different, but I think one of my favorite things was playing gaga ball. As I began to spend more time with people who had the same interest as me, we began to become friends and spent time together frequently throughout the week.

Throughout the trip, I learned a lot, including things about myself and the other people I traveled with. But the most important thing I brought back from Louisiana with me was the realization that through all of the connections and friends I made, I was connecting with God.
